The food me and relatives had here was stupendous! It didn't hurt that my relatives were able to relate to the staff here with language, culture, and even the same graduate school and a fellow classmate in the area. It was meant to be because the relatives tired of other Asian places we frequented locally. They didn't seem to remember their mediocre experience at the former Media downtown location which is now taken over by Peking King I think the name of the new place is. I think the setting was particularly kind of dark when we went many years ago. So hopefully Peking King improved on that. This location plays well with the natural lighting during the day. My plate seemed a bit dirty and I could've asked for a new one but I just decided to clean mine instead and not fuss about it, lol. The owner let me have a free white wine (from Santa Barbara) and a relative had a red wine which he said was good. The white was to my liking. Slightly flavorful and not too dry for me and the quality was reasonable. I tend to like flavorful more and this does it without overdoing it . Most people probably don't like flavorful overdoing and I probably do, but most likely this kind of flavoring in most if not all cases would also contribute negatively to the quality of a wine. My relatives' and my first time having black bass. It is a fine fish and Margaret Kuo's does a great job with sauce preparation with the typical green onion accentuations . Not as good ( or expensive) as the Chilean sea bass. They also offer bronzino- another excellent quality fish. Jellyfish (#207 off Chinese menu) was fine and the tofu? dish (#216 off the Chinese menu) were both familiar authentic Asian classics that cannot be found off the American menu. One of the fish cannot be found on the Chinese menu - the blackfish. After some more research, I am guessing #216 is a type of fermented tofu as I have had this type of food in a jar too. I thought it might be braised at first but braised is not also stored in a jar. The staff didn't seem to know the translation either- but I guess that is one way to know that it MUST be authentic lol. You can also just show pictures and the restaurant will see if they can serve you if you are truly open to authentic Chinese food options and not only what typically works for the mainstream only. There were two more dishes that were fine and I have pictured but they were both too similar to each other and they were so so to me. Food quality was fine- just not 2 dishes I would have personally went for as my top choices. The restaurant itself is hard to find if you have never been and aren't using a navigator. The sign is hard to see at a weird corner angle and I hope their rent is cheaper as a result. They have a name to maintain their local presence here. I sense that the food quality here is the star and main base per se as compared to their Wayne location, but if I am closer to Wayne, I would certainly give that location a try too now. After "linner" or "dunch", we all tried to be Maxxanistas to no avail! This was a good experience for my visiting relatives and they will definitely want to come back with the availability of parking and the bigger space than many authentic restaurants downtown.

The food quality is good but the service is kind of slow. We ordered from the Chinese Menu. It is Cantonese style of cuisine. We love the dish that was prepared with bamboo heart (竹笙). The other selections were nothing special.

We went here last minute as we had a 40-minute wait at a local hibachi restaurant and decided to bail. We've been to their establishment on State Street in Media. This one in the Granite Run complex is definitely more modern and upscale. We started by having cocktails at their bar which seemed stylish and modern at first until we noticed dozens of supplies including boxes and paper towels blocking the right side of the bar by the window. Not a pretty sight. My lychee martini with Gray Goose was delicious though. When we were seated for dinner, we appreciated the complimentary pickled cucumbers and peanuts on the table. As an appetizer, I had the vegetable hot and sour soup with shiitake which was served 5+ minutes after my dinner companions received their soups. The tiger roll, which I had as an entree, was different with spicy salmon and shrimp. A step up from the usual Chinese food although if their bar area was cleaned up, we might stop by just for cocktails.

Had dinner here on Monday nite. As my 2nd timd here Seated immediately.... Began with SCALLUON PANCAKES as taste great..nice crunch & Shangai Steamed Soup Buns ...juicey !! I had PAD THAI BEEF NOODLES which a huge plate .... delicious as great flavor My friend had TUFO CHINESE VEGATABLES ....great amount here too... We both finished with Chinese Fortune cookies .. Only 4 stars because waiter never came back to see wanted a 2nd drink as mine was empty.. Will be back for a 3rd time when in area

Food was excellent! Service was excellent! Patio was lovely, heat lamps were lovely. It was an excellent day date!

Margaret Kuo's is a wonderful restaurant. I find a seat at the bar and enjoy a cocktail as well as a few apps after a rejuvenating pedi & mani in the complex. I usually stick with the same things, because I love them! The Spring Rolls are always fresh, hot and crunchy! The Scallion Pancakes are prepared perfectly! The Rock Shrimp Tempura is succulent and tender on the inside and crunchy on the outside. It comes with a delicious yum yum dipping sauce. I love how creative they are with their cocktails. I ordered an Espresso Martini and the owner said, "we make it OUR way." Lol I said, "I'm ready for YOUR WAY!" The Espresso Martini was created with vodka, Khalua and Bailey's Irish Cream. It was TASTY. They have a Lychee and Ginger Martini that are magical! They were in a Cocktail Competition with their Kumqat Old Fashioned as well. I highly recommend you try Margaret Kuo's!

So excited that the chef from Wayne (permanently closed) is now here to make just about everything off the Chinese menu and Taiwanese breakfast on the weekends. It is a blessing to have Taiwanese food so close to here. The Tainan Dan Zai Noodle Soup was exceptionally good. The broth with fried scallions and they used marinated pork belly chopped up as the topping. Very authentic Taiwanese flavor. The bamboo was savory good; it was my mom's favorite dish at Margaret Kuo's in Wayne. The loofah was good just a little salty today. The mountain medicine root was cut with crinkles. Very healthy and delicious. The oyster pancake was delightful. Flavors on point. The beef tendon in hot chili oil was very good. My son could not stop eating it. So satisfied and grateful to have Margaret Kuo's back at Granite Run and now the chef from Wayne. Service was excellent even out on the patio. Our waitress came out every often to check on us. Will be coming here regularly.

Stopped in on a whim for an early dinner after a doctors appointment at Riddle Hospital. After we ordered, the waiter brought house made marinated pickles and spicy peanuts gratis for the table--the pickles had a lovely combo of sweet followed by a somewhat pleasantly addictive hotness. The peanuts were spicy little nuggets perfect with the wine we ordered. The dragon roll was artistically prepared and had wonderful flavor. The Pad Thai was very good as well. The service was excellent and the decor is top notch. You can even eat outside on the balcony under umbrellas. Good to know: The main entrance is above the TJ Maxx near where JC Penny used to be and Happy hour specials M-F 4-6 p.m..
